Home Safety Checks
Are you concerned about the safety of the stairs in your house? Have your friends or family members told you that your bath isn’t safe? Our specialty team of home safety volunteers can come to your home and check for potential safety issues.
The volunteer can walk through a safety checklist with you at your home, making suggestions for maximizing your home's safety. The checklist includes the exterior of your home, bedroom(s), kitchen, and bath(s). The volunteer will give you the checklist and suggested changes. They will NOT share the list with anyone else. The choice is yours whether or not to act on these suggestions.
If you decide that you want to make any repairs or changes, some of these fixes can be accomplished by our Village volunteers. Call the EV office to request those services. Other repairs or changes may need a more complex fix; if so, call the office for a list of recommended professionals who may be able to assist you.
You can also call the office to get a Medical Information Vial, which holds vital information for emergency responders.
