EV Talks
Face-to-face and Zoom
As you can tell, we get together a lot. Whether it’s at a morning coffee, a pinochle game, a gentle hike in the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden, an online happy hour, or a free-spirited foray into finger-painting, we gather to share, celebrate, and support.
Anne says:
“I love the fact that Village members can set up whatever sort of activity or program they wish. From book clubs to singing groups and cultural studies, every meet-up started with someone’s idea. And you can always find someone to meet for coffee! I love all the connections we make. We truly are a Village.”
Newsletter
Our monthly newsletter keeps us up on what’s happening in the Village and introduces us to helpful, interesting, and entertaining topics. We might read about a tour of the Leach Botanical Garden, equipment to help us become more mobile, using our gardens to help counteract climate change, tips on setting daily “buddy check-ins,” and how to use the city’s mass transit system. Every issue is colorful and useful!
Village Talk
Our online chatroom pops. You never know what someone will post. They might need someone to pick their backyard plums, or recommend an ophthalmologist. They might invite members over for tapas. One person needed help dealing with skunks. Another wanted to give away a ham radio. And another gave great tips about accessing medical financial assistance.
Blogs
Right now, members are posting “Hysterically Historical,” a history of Eastside Village; and all the fascinating books the participants in our “What Are You Reading?” group are reading.
