Website Help for Members and Volunteers
Now that I’m logged in, what features may I access? Note that many of the links below will work only if you are logged in.
For Members
- Village events: Find our Events Calendar under the "Events" menu. We also offer virtual, online-only events via Zoom. If you need help with Zoom or other technology, call the Village office for help.
- Village Talk: Village Talk provides a number of discussion forums where you can participate in our members-only interest groups. Village Talk includes "Announcements,” "Open Bulletin Board," "Vendor Recommendations by Members," and "Buy - Sell - Trade - Free - Borrow." Access them by clicking Village Talk under the "Members" menu. Review the EV Village Talk policy.
- Vendor recommendations: Need a painter, plumber, dentist, insurance agent, housekeeper, or other special help? Access our list of Recommended Professionals by selecting Preferred Providers under the "Members" menu, or call our office for information. You also can ask other members for recommendations in the Village Talk "Vendor Recommendations by Members" forum. (Note: Eastside Village hasn’t vetted these vendors.) If you’d like Eastside Village to assess a professional service provider, please contact the office.
- Your member profile: View and update your personal information and preferences. Click your initial (or picture) in the top right corner of any page, then select "My Profile.” And please edit your profile and add a favorite photo of yourself. That’ll really help other members and volunteers get to know you!
- Members Directory: Find other Eastside Village members through our "Members Directory" under the "Members" menu. You can search by name. Tip: Because of variations in names, try several, such as "James" or "Jim." If you are unsure of the spelling of a name, only use about four letters to search and then select from the results.
- Service requests:
- Review outstanding requests: See your unfulfilled service requests by selecting "My Service Requests" under the "Member" menu.
- Evaluate completed requests: After a service is completed, you'll get an email asking for feedback. Click the "Follow-up Form" button to share your confidential comments.
For Volunteers
- Your volunteer profile and interests: Keep your profile updated to help us match you with requests. Click your initial (or picture) in the top right corner, then select "My Profile.” Then update your contact and volunteer service interests. If a service is "grayed out," you need to be vetted in order to provide it, so please call the office.
- Review available service requests: See open requests that match your interests by selecting "Volunteer" then "Service Requests" from the main menu. You can filter the list and sign up for requests. You'll also receive a daily email with open requests. Volunteers also can request services.
- Your upcoming requests: View your accepted requests in a calendar format by selecting "My Agenda" from the drop-down menu in the icon in the top right corner of the page. If you need to withdraw from a request, you must call the Eastside Village office to remove your name.
- Evaluate completed requests: After a service is completed, you'll receive an email asking for feedback about your experience. Click the "Follow-up Form" button to provide confidential comments and adjust time/mileage spent.
