UPDATED Information for Timberline Lodge Lunch in March, Tuesday the 18th. Registration is required by March 15th, 5:00 PM to organize car pooling options. Nobody has to drive all the way up there which can be icy and requires a special parking permit. Turns out there is shuttle bus service from Sandy all the way to the Lodge. There is however a fee, $2.00 each way. NO, that is not a typo, round trip for $4.00 from Sandy. To get to the Mt. Hood Express shuttle in Sandy you can either drive or meet at 10:00 in the EV office church parking lot (41st and Steele) to car pool with EVers. With the distance it will be a long day. You will be able to either spend roughly 2 or 4 hours up there.
For car pooling from the EV parking lot there are several options

Be a car pool driver to Sandy and offer to take x number of riders. Critical is if you plan to spend either 2 or 4 hours at the Lodge to match you with riders who wish to spend 2 or 4 hours there. Critical is to let Kathi or me know if you wish to stay 2 or 4 hours and how many passengers you can take. A COUPLE MORE DRIVERS NEEDED.
Be a car pool rider to Sandy and meet by 10:00 at the EV office parking lot. Critical is if you plan to spend 2 or 4 hours at the Lodge. Let me know if getting to the EV parking lot is difficult in order to make pick up arrangements. Critical is to let Kathi or me know if you wish to stay 2 or 4 hours.

For non-carpool drivers you can drive to the Sandy shuttle pick up point or drive all the way to the Lodge needing a parking permit.

Drivers: I highly recommend taking Powell Blvd (Highway 26) the whole way to western Sandy avoiding many country turns some navigation may suggest.

The shuttle leaves at 11:15 in western  Sandy at 16610 Champion Way at an on-street bus stop. This address is in front of the Sandy Transit Operation Center building. It runs on time and there is off street parking.

At Timberline the shuttle bus stops at the Wy'East day lodge about 200 feet down a street from the main Lodge. By walking through the day lodge the outside walking distance is more like 100 feet which could be a bit icy depending on late March weather. It is also possible that the Lodge itself could provide some assistance in getting from the day lodge to the main Lodge.

There are several lunch options. The first is the Cascade main dinning room (fairly nice). Let Kathi or me know if you want a reservation in this dinning room. Most meals are around $32.00. Perhaps some items under $20.00. A more limited menu is available up stairs in the Rams Head bar running from $15.00 to $25.00. On the lower level in the main Lodge there is a small inside bar that has pizza (roughly $24.00 or slices for $12.00). Another lunch option is back down in the Wy'Esat Cafe in the day lodge with sandwiches etc., but with a lot of skiers. Sandwiches run around $14.00 to $20.00.

After lunch I will spend some time in the top floor bar which depending on the weather provides great views. Also there is a small interesting museum. Or just hang out in front of one of the huge fire places reading or playing cards.

To return to Sandy the first shuttle bus leaves at 2:45 and another at 4:45. Travel time back to Sandy is one hour. Times can be subject to road conditions. More info at www.timberlinelodge.com.
